the sources carefully.

Weathering
Weathering
is the process that breaks down rocks and other materials on Earth's surface
into smaller pieces. There are two main types:
1.Physical
Weathering:
Rocks break apart without changing their chemical makeup. For example, water
can freeze in cracks, expand, and break rocks.
2.Chemical
Weathering:
Rocks change their chemical makeup. For example, rainwater can dissolve certain
types of rocks over time.
Soil
Erosion
Soil
erosion is when wind, water, or ice carry away the top layer of soil. This can
happen because of rain, rivers, or even strong winds. If there are no plants or
trees to hold the soil in place, erosion can happen faster.
Deposition
Deposition
is when the soil, rocks, or sand that were carried away by erosion are dropped
in a new place. For example, when a river slows down, it can drop the soil it
was carrying, creating new landforms like deltas.

3.A
farmer notices that the soil on his farm is being washed away during heavy rain.
What could the farmer do to slow down soil erosion? Explain your answer.

4. A river carries sand and soil
downstream. Over time, a new landform appears where the river meets the ocean. What
process caused the new landform to form? How does this process work?
